Visit Beijing & its Surroundings (7 Days)
Day
1 Arrival in Beijing Capital Hotel (4 star-rated) or Similar
Upon arrival at the Beijing Capital Airport, passengers on
this tour will be met and greeted by our attentive local guide,
and then transfer to the centrally located hotel. The rest
of the day will be at your own disposal for either relax or
taking a walk.
Day 2 Beijing
Full day sightseeing starts with a visit to the famous Tiananmen
Square at the very center of Beijing, the largest one in the
world, where you may walk around and take pictures. Afterwards,
we go through a subway over north of the square and visit
the splendid Imperial Palace, well known as the "Forbidden
City", which was the place that the emperors of the Ming
and Qing dynasties lived and conducted the state affairs for
500 years. After lunch in a local restaurant, we take visit
to the enchanting Summer Palace at the northwest suburbs,
which is one of China's largest and best-preserved imperial
gardens served as summer resort for the emperor and empress
in Qing dynasty. In the evening, a delicious Peking Duck banquet
is arranged for you as a welcome party. (BLD)
Day
3 Beijing
The highlight today is to drive 45 miles northwest of Beijing
to visit the extraordinary Great Wall, the symbol of China's
ancient civilization that built along the top of mountains
for over 2000 years. There is an old saying" One can
never be a hero, unless having been to the Great Wall."
On the way back, we stop by the Sacred Road to see 24 marvelous
stone sculptures of animals and guards, which leads to the
Ming dynasty's tomb area. We then continue our visit to the
third Ming emperor's Tomb - Changling and its commemorating
palace, now served as the museum displayed with valuable relics
unearthed from the 13th Ming emperor's tomb. In the evening,
a famous Peking Opera show is available after dinner. (BLD)
Day
4 Beijing
This morning, a very interesting Hutong Tour is planned for
you to take a real look of the old Beijing's courtyards and
the ordinary families. You will be invited to ride on the
pedicab running through the narrow lanes and call on the local
homes to see their daily life as well as a visit to the community
kindergarten. After lunch, we take a visit to The Temple of
Heaven, the most famous ancient architecture in China, uniquely
built in 1420 as the place for emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties
worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvest. Tonight, a
fantastic Acrobatics Show is on your schedule after dinner.

Day
5 Beijing
Today, we'll take a special visit to Beijing Zoo to see the
world unique animal - Giant Panda, as they are so lovely in
the morning, strolling outside and eating with bamboo as their
major food. You will be permitted to take pictures there.
Afterwards, we go to visit the city's well-known Lamasery
- Yonghegong, built in early Qing dynasty and was originally
the palace for emperor Yongzheng to live and study before
he was ascended throne. It became the Tibetan Lamasery later
and now about 70 monks from Inner Mongolia live and make services
here. This afternoon, we take you to visit the Beihai Park,
at the center of Beijing, in which the most significant symbol
is the Buddhist White Pagoda, built in early Yuan dynasty
with a history of 800 years. Afterwards, you may go shopping
at the famous Silk Street market near the embassy area. (B

Day 6 Beijing
Today, it is entirely free for you to explore the city with
your own interest. You may walk along the city's busiest shopping
area - Wangfujing Street, or Liulichang - the antique shop
street, and the Museum of Chinese History flanking Tiananmen
Square. Lunch and dinner will be on your own care. ( B )
Day
7 Beijing / Return home flight
Check out the hotel in the morning, our local guide will come
to meet you at the hotel lobby and help you transfer to the
airport for the return home flight. ( B )
